CHILDS' IRISES One of our leading specialties is the Iris. We grow all varieties by the acre and our stocks are recognized as among the choicest. We offer a small, selected list of the best sorts for early spring planting. GARDEN IRIS, Fleur de Lis The Tall Bearded Irises are among the most beau- tiful and satisfactory of the hardy plants. They can be planted and transplanted with safety almost any time of the year when ground is open. They lov^ shallow planting in a sunny, well-drained sit- uation and bloom in May and June. Beauty—S. white, F. white bordered and veined pale plum color. Beethoven—S. blue, F. deep royal purple. Brooklyn—S. lavender, yellow at bass; F. pale blue; base veined brown on a white ground, edged yellow, splashed with dark blue; beautiful. Candleans—S. light lavender, F. reddish-purple. Edith Cook—S. clear yellow, F. yellow, veined red. Flavescens—S. and F. delicate shade of soft yel- low. Gertrude—S'. and F. same shade of rare violet- blue. Gracchus—S. clear yellow; F. marked red, reticu- lated white. A very conpicuous variety. Honorabilis—S. intense yellow, F. a beautiful bronze. Harlequin Melanais—White and violet-blue; blotched. Herant—S. bright blue. F. much darker. Early. L'Afiricain—S. rosy purple, F. darker, veined darker at base. Dwarf. Negleeta—S. pale lavender, F. purple and whites. IVibelnngen—S. olive green, F. yellow, purple and white. Parkmanni—S'. lemon, F. white, veined purple. Pauline—S. bright blue, F. a little darker. Pearl—S. very light lavender, F. deep lavender. F. pure white; Large flower. A fine buff, F. intense plum THE PALLIDA GROUP The choicest as well as the tallest and largest of all the bearded Irises. Foliage is broad and makes a fine appearance. Most exquisite of all the beard- ed Irises. 30c each; $3.00 per doz. Queen of May—This is very satisfactory and well adapted everywhere. It is a soft rosy-lilac, almost pink. 25c each; $2.50 per doz. Trautlieb—One of the finest. S. pinkish, F. darker. Very handsome. 50c each; $5.00 per doz. 1 each of the Pallida group for $3.25 FINE MIXED GARDEN IRIS This is a choice mixture of about 50 named vari- eties of all colors. It will make a glorious display in a border. $1.25 per doz.; $7.50 per 100 IRIS PUMILA These might be called early dwarf Garden Irisesr They grow only six to twelve inches high, showing- a mass of large elegant flowers early in the spring. Sambo—Fine blue-black. Lutea—Fine yellow. The Bride—Snow-white. 20c each; the 3 for 50c; $2.00 per doz. Mixed Iris Pumila—Many colors. $1.25 per doz. SWEET ORRIS, Iris Florentina One of the most delicate perfumes known is that of the Orris. The plant is of the Iris family with great handsome blossoms, which emit delicate per- fume and are objects of great beauty in any gar- den. Perfectly hardy and very early. Sweet Orris White Sweet Orris Blue 25c each; 3 for 60c; 12 for $2.00 IRIS SIBIRICA, Orientalis Tall, narrow, grassy foliage with flower stems three to four feet tall. Delicate, refined flowers in great profusion. Orientalis, Blue—Intense, dark blue flowers. Orientalis, Snow Queen—Large, ivory white flowers.. 25c each; the 2 for 40c; $2.00 per doz. Color Plate Collection of Irises We call attention to a good collection of Irises on Color Plate XI on page 125. There are three fine Garden Irises, Loreley, Ehein Nixe, and Ad- miral Togo, and three equally choice Japanese Irises, La 'Favorite, Blue Danube and Spotted Beauty. These will make a fine clump in the gar- den, increasing in size and beauty each year with little care. Six strong roots for $2.00
